What inspired you to launch your own website?
The need for comparison shopping services in South Africa.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
In 2001. It was a job site for English teachers.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
It matches what is on offer ie. Life Insurance
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
There aren't other sites like this in South Africa which makes us unique.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To make as much money as possible and provide the best possible service to our users.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Well everything requires an initial investment of time and/or money to be a hit, so right now we are still in the 'investing' stages.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I'd add a whole lot more functionality to how leads are handled in the backoffice.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes, not a problem at all.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
The lack of internet savvy life insurance brokers in South Africa.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Getting started :)
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Search engine optimization without a doubt!
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It is a lot more time intensive than I expected.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
A couple of months! It should be relevant for another couple of years.

Pepsi, although Coke have improved their advertising 10 fold!
