In this depressed property market, one would think that flood insurance would be easily accessible for homeowners.Owning a home is one of the biggest investments most home-owners make. Without flood insurance for homes in Iowa, and mortgages being granted for these homes, the asset class is negated. The home owner is placed in the unenviable position that the home cannot be viewed as an asset, but a liability. Something must be done about this state of affairs in Iowa. Link: [link]

Starting this month, people with pre-existing health conditions who have been unable to get health insurance could now enroll in a temporary high-risk insurance pool (Pre-Existing Condition Isurance Plan ), which was one of the provision on health care reform law (Patient Protection and Affordable Cara Act or PPACA).
